Partners in Education:
What Graduate Programs are Available?
PIE teachers may enroll in any one of the following programs:
- C & I (Curriculum and Instruction) - 30 semester hours
K-12
- EECD (Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity)
Linguistically Diverse Education
Linguistically Diverse Education and Bilingual Special Education Generalist
Multicultural/Bilingual Foundations of Education (no endorsements)
Requirements for these programs are available by clicking on any one
and downloading from this web site, or handouts are available in the Office
of Student Services, Room 151, School of Education, or by calling (303)
492-6555.
Most PIE teachers enroll in one of the Instruction and Curriculum in
the Content Areas programs, since we are able to more readily build
in
PIE course credits for classroom-related work and projects in those programs.
Candidates in these programs are able to earn nine elective hours of
independent
study, action research, and PIE seminar-related elective credit during
the academic year.
Specific courses and credits needed in other programs, especially where
state endorsements are involved (e.g., ESL), will not
accept all these elective credits. Advisers in those programs will determine
program requirements and any transfer credits.
