Partners in Education: How do I get admitted to graduate school In addition to applying to a specific district, all prospective PIE teachers must concurrently apply to and be accepted for a Master's Degree program through the School of Education. Most PIE teachers apply to one of our graduate programs in Instruction & Curriculum (see PIE brochure for MA program options). If you have an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (the minimum GPA for most graduate programs) or above, you will not be required to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or other tests. Applications and information on appropriate graduate programs for PIE are available in the Office of Student Services On the top of the first page of your graduate school application, please write "PIE Applicant." You may also access graduate applications on line at www.colorado.edu/education/admissions/forms.html Go to the section on Graduate Program Forms. Read the notice section. Open and print all forms listed. You will still need to request or pick up a graduate handbook.Deadline for fall admission: May 7, 2010 (Please note that the February 1 deadline listed on application materials is extended for PIE participants.) We will also accept late applications from PIE candidates hired by the districts during the early summer. Out-of-State Applicants: District tuition reimbursements are based
upon in-state residency rates. Establishing Colorado residency requires
proving that you have been a resident for a year. PIE candidates who have
out-of-state tuition status and have been accepted to graduate school
can participate in all nine hours of PIE course work fall and spring only
if they are willing to pay the difference between in-state and out-of-state
tuition.
