The School of Education provides teacher licensure programs, advanced endorsement programs for experienced teachers, and graduate training at both the master's and PhD levels.

Teacher licensure programs
Teacher licensure programs ensure rigorous content preparation and extensive field-based practicum experiences. Programs leading to a Colorado teaching license are available for undergraduates, for postbaccalaureate students, and for candidates pursuing a master's concurrently with the license. Master's level programs are also available for teachers who wish to obtain an advanced Colorado teaching endorsement in bilingual education, English as a second language, or as a reading specialist.

Graduate programs
Graduate programs emphasize research that focuses on educational policy and practice. Areas of specialization leading to a master's or PhD are instruction and curriculum; educational psychology; educational foundations, policy, and practice; and educational equity and cultural diversity. Specialization in research and evaluation methodology is available only at the PhD level.

The University of Colorado at Boulder School of Education was selected as a Partner in the Carnegie Initiative on the Doctorate.
