All Teacher Licensure program candidates must pass one of the state-approved licensure exams in order to be eligible for student teaching and Colorado Initial Teacher Licensure. There are no exceptions or waivers to this policy.
The licensure exam should be taken nine months to one year in advance of the semester in which you plan to student teach. To determine which exam option and which testing date is the best fit for you, please contact the Director of Advising (303-492-6555).
There are two exam options: PLACE and PRAXIS II.
For the required test codes and score reporting information, please read our Licensure Exam Policy.
Score reports for the PLACE and PRAXIS II are available to test takers only. The School of Education does NOT receive individual score reports. The score report is only available for a limited time; it is important that you access your score report and save a copy for your records in a timely manner. Potential employers and state certification bodies may request copies of your score report.
