Monette McIver is assistant professor of education, specializing in literacy. Her research explores the development of classroom teachers’ writing identities and the impact these identities have on instruction and student achievement. In addition, Dr. McIver is interested in teacher leadership and how teachers influence policy decisions at local and national levels.

Dr. McIver is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Educational Research Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the National Writing Project.
