Gina Cervetti is an assistant professor of education. She specializes in elementary reading, particularly students’ development of academic and critical literacies. Her current research concerns the integration of literacy and content-area instruction. She has several studies underway focusing on science instruction as a context for the development of nonfiction literacy skills and academic language and on the potential of content-area instruction to support the language development of English language learners.
