Donna Begley is a senior instructor and teaches foundations, remediation strategies and assessment methods in literacy. Her courses include: EDUC 4321 (Foundations of reading in the integrated literacy block); EDUC 4341 (Assessment and Remediation of Reading), EDUC 3023 (Teaching in American Schools) and EDUC 5245 (Foundations of Literacy). Prior to coming to CU, Boulder, Donna taught at Lindenwood University and Columbia College. In addition, she spent 24 years in the field as a teacher at the middle level, as a K-12 resource for literacy and special education, program coordinator, instructional coach and PIE instructional professor. Her research interests and efforts have involved early intervention programs for parents and teachers of children from birth to age eight and most recently support programs for GLBT students at the middle and high school levels.
