Goal

Doing Democracy Day is multi-community, multi-school one day event devoted to area students wrestling with local issues, using local leaders as live resources.  The event challenges students from 10 high schools to research local issues like homelessness, vaccination, drone use, transportation, school testing, minimum wage, equal justice, marijuana, etc. The research involves conducting interviews with local leaders who are currently struggling with similar issues. It concludes with students proposing solutions to an panel of local leaders serving as judges. It is now in its' eighth year in St. Vrain Valley Schools.
