Amelia Dickerson, an alumna of the School of Education’s Social Studies Teacher Licensure program (2011) completed her first Bolder Boulder on Monday. Having lost her vision in a car accident at age 14, Amelia ran with the assistance of a friend and frequent running partne, Silke Koster. This was the first year the Bolder Boulder officially endorsed an adaptive program that allows runners with disabilities to participate with guides, led by Achilles International.

At an average pace of 7:15, nothing could slow Amelia down–but that was not unusual for Amelia as a marathoner and record-setting blind runner.
