By invitation of the CU-Boulder Athletic Department, Professor Valerie Otero was featured during the Colorado Buffaloes football game on November 29th against Utah as the "Faculty Coach of the Game." Faculty members are nominated to be Faculty Coach of the Game by student-athletes, the Boulder Faculty Assembly, the Chancellor's Office, or the Herbst Academic Staff in recognition for a distinguished commitment to excellence in their field.
As Faculty Coach of the game, Professor Otero joined the the captains of the team on the center of the field for the coin toss, while the video posted below featured her teaching and research accomplishments. In addition, Professor Otero joined the academic support staff for a tour of the Dal Ward Athletic Center and halftime lunch with former CU letter awarded athletes.
