Welner_180x224.jpegOn the heels of the Vergara v California ruling that teacher tenure policies disproportionately negatively impacted poor and minority students (which has been stayed pending appeal), two similar lawsuits have been initiated in New York, with others being planned in several states.

 NPR interviewed Executive Director of the National Education Policy Center (NEPC) and School of Education Professor Kevin Welner, where he shared his expertise in law and education as it relates to a current focus on teacher tenure policies.
