ABC 7News Denver consults Professor Kevin Welner and research conducted by the National Education Policy Center (NEPC) regarding the underreporting of crimes in schools.
The 2012 NEPC research brief of Colorado Disciplinary Practices from 2008-2010, authored by PhD Candidates Ryan Pfleger and Kathryn Wiley, examines the reporting of disciplinary actions in Colorado as well as the differential experiences by race and gender regarding disciplinary actions for student behaviors.
