PhD, University of Tennessee, 1992, is a professor with research interests in econometrics and statistics and a focus on nonparametric and semiparametric models. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington, D.C. and prior to joining the faculty in 2009 he was a faculty member at Oregon State University and FGV. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank, the Central Bank of Brazil, and several private companies. His research has appeared in the Journal of Econometrics, International Economic Review, Rand Journal of Economics, Journal of Multivariate Analysis, as well as other journals.
