Newtonian Mechanics (1968)
... the vision of an orderly universe bound together by a fairly simple dynamic principles as revealed in Newtonian mechanics undoubtedly helped to create an ambition to find the same simple principles in the social sphere. Pope's famous lines "Nature and natures's laws lay hid in night God said, 'Let Newton be? and all was light." could very well also express theimpression which Adam Smith made on the subsequent generations.
