The Environmental Center houses a small library of books, magazines and audio-visual materials in our office in University Memorial Center room 355.    Books and DVDs are available for borrowing.  Current magazines are for use in the office, but back issues can be taken on request.

Audio-Visual Materials

The Environmental Center has more than 150 DVDs, CDs, Video tapes and Audio tapes on a wide variety of subjects that include but are not limited to Food and Agriculture, Green Building, Sustainable Development, and Fossil Fuel Extraction.  Keynote speeches, Documentaries, Feature Films, and more include the full library of the Planet Earth TV series and Bioneers national conference plenaries.

See a listing of all our A/V materials here.   A $25 deposit is required to borrow an A/V item, in the form of a check made payable to the University of Colorado.

Stop by to browse through the latest issues of 25 different magazines:  Audubon, Cultural Survival, E - The Environmental Magazine, Earth Island Journal, Edible Front Range, Environmental Justice, Green American, High Country News, Headwaters, Nature Conservancy, Nature's Voice, National Green Pages, OnEarth, Orion, Population Press, ReDirect Guide, Resource Recycling, Resources, Sierra, Solutions Journal, Sustainability - the Journal of Record, Utne Reader, America's Wilderness, Sustain, and Yes!

Have you ever read the classics Rachel Carson's Silent Spring or Thoreau's Walden?  Modern texts are on our shelves, too, on subjects ranging from Environmental Justice and Sustainable Living to Peak Energy and Climate Change.   Many photo books and local guide books can also be browsed or borrowed.  Here is a full list of our titles:
