Vandana Shiva is a distinguished policy expert, author, global leader and justice activist. She has been named by Forbes Magazine as one of the Seven Most Powerful Women in the Globe and received the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize."
In addition, she has authored numerous books, policy papers, and articles. Dr. Shiva has made significant contributions to the areas of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and biodiversity while making visible the social, economic, and ecological costs of neoliberal globalization. She is a famed activist raising awareness about the perils of genetically modified foods and increasingly monopolized food systems.
On top of her policy and activist work in India, Dr. Shiva advises governments worldwide. For instance, she is currently working with the Government of Bhutan to make the nation 100% organic and with the Governments of Tuscany and Rome to create a hopeful and livable future for young people. Her famed Navdanya
organic seed banks throughout India have supported Indian farmers and protected biological and cultural diversity since 1984.

How do I get a ticket for this event?
There are no pre registered tickets for this event- you will receive a ticket at -the door to maintain capacity of the room.
Is this event free and open to the public?
Yes! Priority will be given to students, but all are welcome. When you arrive at Glenn Miller ballroom there will be two lines for entry: students and community members.
When does the event start?
Doors open at 5pm and the event starts at 6pm.
