Sharon is a 3rd year UC Davis undergraduate biology major hailing from Sacramento California.  She began working at the Hastings Laboratory in the department of Environmental Science and Policy during her sophomore year.  She will be presenting her individual research project at the 23rd Annual UCD Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Conference and hopes to continue her research endeavors well on into her future.  Sharon's research touches upon the disciplines of Environmental Science & Policy, as well as Evolution and Ecology.  Aside from her academic and research interests she is also an avid artist.  She has won the first place award at the California State Fair's annual young artists competition for two consecutive years and hopes to pass on her passion for the arts to her younger brother Shanil who is eleven years her junior.
