I spent one summer collecting neotectonic field data with Glen Mattioli on the Caribbean islands of Dominica and Montserrat. While placing precise GPS receivers to detect slight movements of the surface I observed a plinian eruption of the Soufriere Hills volcano on Montserrat. I produced a map of neotectonic movement (report here) on Dominica indicating possible emerging volcanic centers. While working with the Arkansas Center for Space and Planetary Sciences I compared styles of volcanism on Earth with those found on Mars.
