North Central High School (Indianapolis, IN)

The Japanese program at North Central High School, Indianapolis, IN, is growing. Starting 2008-2009 school year, we are looking for a part-time Japanese teacher to be able to teach one or two Japanese I level classes. Every year, it will be possible to teach more classes. Bartholomew Consolidated Schools (Columbus, IN): Maternity Leave Replacement

A temporary full-time Japanese/ESL teaching position will be available for the first semester of the 2008-2009 school year at Columbus North High School in Columbus, Indiana. The position is currently 5 periods of Japanese and 1 period of ESL support (no formal class instruction). The position is not posted on the district website as of yet but inquiries would be welcome. Columbus is a town of about 35,000 in southern Indiana less than an hour away from Indiana University and home to over 15 Japanese-owned or affiliated companies. Due to the large number of Japanese families that live in the area, students and teachers have access to a Japanese food store, two Japanese restaurants, and TV Japan via the cable system. St. Johnsbury Academy, VT
 

St. Johnsbury Academy, located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, has an opening for a Japanese Language teacher for grades 9-12. St. Johnsbury Academy offers Latin, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese to its student body of 1,000 high school students. The Japanese  program consist of four levels of language instruction that range from beginner to advanced; all levels of Japanese are taught at an accelerated level. The position is for only the 2009/2010 school year and would require teaching a total of six classes - three classes during the fall semester and three during the spring semester. Please contact Language Department Chair Roberto Abele by email at rabele@stjacademy.org or by telephone at (802)748-4674.

Carmel-Clay School District, IN - Maternity Leave Replacement

A part-time Japanese teaching job will come open in the Carmel-Clay School district in April and May of 2008. This position is for the mornings only. Please see http://www.ccs.k12.in.us for more information about the school district. The job has not been posted on the CCS website yet, but inquiries are probably welcome. 

This job is a maternity-leave position. After the end of the school year, I will not be returning in fall 2008. Therefore, whoever applies for the maternity leave position might want to consider also applying for the permanent position open in the fall. I teach Spanish and Japanese at Clay Middle School. The most ideal candidate would be certified in both Spanish and Japanese, since this would lead to a full-time job. However, candidates willing to teach part-time in either language should still apply.

      Muncie (IN) Community Schools

Muncie, IN, Community Schools seeks a full-time Japanese teacher for Southside High School and other primary and secondary schools in the community. Starting date is as soon as possible. Center for Global Studies, Norwalk, CT
