Looking for research about Japanese language education or Japanese linguistics? Looking for teaching materials? If you present papers at conferences, are those papers sitting in your filing cabinet, unavailable for other teachers and researchers to read and cite? The ERIC Clearinghouse on Languages and Linguistics collects and distributes conference papers, bibliographies, dissertations and theses, research reports, opinion papers, vocabularies and dictionaries, teaching materials, and course syllabi. ERIC maintains an electronic database which makes it easy to find materials and has full text for most materials available on microfiche housed in research libraries or via on-line ordering and electronic delivery. For researchers and teachers, ERIC provides a useful service, both for disseminating their own work and for learning about the related work of others. ERIC makes materials available to other researchers more rapidly than might be otherwise possible. Materials do not undergo peer review or revision processes, and if accepted, are made available in the form provided by the author. Because the purpose of the database is to make potentially useful materials widely available, acceptance rates are high. And authors of materials submitted to ERIC maintain the rights to their own materials, so they are free to revise and publish them elsewhere. Submission of documents is possible by sending two clear photocopies and a completed reproduction release form to ERIC.
