The Nominating Committee encourages members to nominate qualified individuals for the ATJ Board. Qualifications for Board members include a strong commitment to Japanese studies, an interest in ATJ, and expertise in one or more of the following fields: literature, linguistics, language pedagogy, education, or a related field. Board members who are elected in a general vote of the membership in spring 2002 will serve three-year terms beginning in April 2002 and ending in April 2005. Please send nominations, including 1) nominee's name, 2) position and institution (including location if not clear from institutions' name), 3) telephone number(s), email address, and postal address (if known), 4) field(s) of specialization, and 5) previous ATJ Board experience (yes/no), by December 3, 2001, to Ann Sherif, Chair, ATJ Nominating Committee.
