CASTEL/J 2002 Third International Conference


The CASTEL/J 2002 Third International Conference will be held from July 11-14, 2002 at the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, University of California, San Diego, La Jolla, California, USA. CASTEL/J, Computer-Assisted System for Teaching and Learning Japanese, is an international conference serving as a forum for the discussion and exchange of information on the research, development, and application on all topics related to computer-assisted systems, multimedia/hypermedia, WWW/Internet, distance education, and electronic database for teaching and learning Japanese.

We welcome proposals for papers, posters, panel sessions, or workshops dealing with any aspect of computer-assisted Japanese language teaching and learning or with related issues. The official conference languages are Japanese and English. All proposals are reviewed and selected by an international program committee. Submissions must be in triplicate and conform to these specifications: papers (20 minutes followed by a 10-minute discussion) submit a complete paper or a 500-700 word abstract plus bibliography, illustrations, and tables; posters submit an abstract; panel sessions (70 minutes followed by 20-minute discussion) submit an abstract (250 words) describing the session as a whole and an abstract (500 words each) from each of the panelists; workshops contact the Program Chair.

To facilitate blind review, please include a cover sheet indicating a) title, b) your name and affiliation, c) your mailing address and phone number, d) your e-mail address, and e) audio/visual needs. Submissions must be received in hard copy or by e-mail by August 31, 2001. Presenters will be notified by November 30, 2001. Submit to: Y.-H.
