Special Issue of Japanese Language and Literature: Japanese Pedagogy

This special issue of Japanese Language and Literature will highlight various approaches to Japanese pedagogy. Publication is scheduled for Fall 2008.

Authors of submitted manuscripts were notified by March 31, 2008, whether their articles would be accepted for publication in the special issue or not.

The Journal is published twice annually. Volume 42, No. 2, will be published in October 2008. With Volume 35, the name of the journal was changed to Japanese Language and Literature: Journal of the Association of Teachers of Japanese.

Back Issues

Back issues of Japanese Language and Literature, from Vol. 1 No. 1 to Vol. 38 No. 2, are available on-line through the JSTOR archive (http://www.jstor.org). For information on accessing the archive as an individual, please contact ATJ at atj@colorado.edu.

Back issues beginning with Vol. 4 are available in limited quantities. Vol. 20, No. 1 contains a cumulative table of contents with indexes for Volumes 1 through 19; Vol. 32, No. 2 contains a cumulative table of contents and indexes for Volumes 20 through 30. Copies of issues of the Journal from the past five years are $10; earlier issues are $5. Orders should be sent to:

Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted for publication should either be submitted electronically (preferred) to the appropriate editor (see below) or in hard copy as follows: Three copies should be sent. They should be typed double-spaced, including all indented quotations and with footnotes given at the end of the manuscript. Materials in Japanese should be submitted on separate pages. Manuscripts not complying with these requirements may be returned. Materials under consideration elsewhere will not be accepted. Unsolicited book reviews are not accepted. A self-addressed stamped envelope included with unsolicited manuscripts in hard copy will be appreciated.

The Journal is prepared using Nisus Writer and typeset using Adobe Acrobat on a Macintosh.
