Alliance for Language Learning and Educational Exchange (ALLEX)
Establish and Enhance a Japanese Program at your Institution: ALLEX enables colleges and high schools to begin or maintain a high quality Japanese language program by providing them with professionally trained, native Japanese instructors who teach in exchange for tuition waivers to pursue a master's, associate's, or second bachelor's degree. High Schools are encouraged to partner with neighboring colleges.

American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)
ACTFL, which is affiliated with the Modern Language Association (MLA), serves teachers of all languages with meetings, publications, and research on language teaching and learning.

Japan-America Student Conference
The Japan-America Student Conference is an annual event which is entirely managed by and for university students. The Conference venue alternates between Japan and the U.S.; participants from the two countries exchange views on issues of concern to both societies. The Japan Information Access Project is an independent research center focusing on science, technology, industry, and security policy.

Japan Policy Research Institute
The Japan Policy Research Institute promotes education about Japan and its role in international affairs. The site offers working papers and reprints articles and commentaries on policy issues.

The Joint National Committee on Languages/National Council for Languages and International Studies (JNCL/NCLIS) web site has information on funding opportunities, grant writing suggestions, and news about political and policy decisions that affect language and area studies.
