Notetaking Services Students requesting notetaking must have documentation on file that support the need and be referred by their Disability Services specialist. Disability Services will also work with students to identify resources for getting notes. Our disability specialists are highly trained in assisting students with strategies for improving their own notetaking skills. Your Accountability in Using Notetaking Services When you receive accommodation letter through email from our main office, be sure to print the accommodation letter AND the flyer: Professor Responsibilities for Securing Notetakers for Studenst with Disabilities and I've Agreed to be a Notetaker, now What? Give the accommodation letter AND the flyer to your professors. We recommend you see your professor during office hours or make an appointment rather than try to discuss your accommodation needs right before or after class. Check your email for a confirmation from Karen.Boyd@colorado.edu. The confirmation will include your notetaker's name and email address, which class, and whether you will receive class notes through email or carbonless paper at the end of the class period. If the notetaker is using carbonless paper, you will need to contact her/him to make arrangement for meeting after class to get your notes. Provide feedbacks to your notetaker to ensure that the style and quality of the class notes are both useful and clear. You are not entitled to receive class notes on days you have not attended class. Selling or allowing other students to copy your class notes is not allowed. |
