Research Interests

My research broadly examines carbon (C) cycling in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, with the aim of understanding the movement of carbon in the biosphere-atmosphere system and impacts of climate change and disturbance. I focus on CO2 and CH4 gas fluxes, dissolved organic carbon sources and biodegradability, and land-aquatic connections of carbon. Current and past research studies include C cycling of wetlands, forests, streams, and rivers in interior and north slope Alaska.
