Peter Pringle is a British journalist and author. He was a foreign correspondent for 30 years for the Sunday Times, The Observer, and The Independent. He worked in Africa, the Middle East, the former Soviet Union, Europe, Northern Ireland, and the United States. He has authored and co-authored several non-fiction books on the military, politics, and science, including the best-selling Those Are Real Bullets, and Food, Inc., a New York Times Notable Book. Last year he published his first novel, Day of the Dandelion, An Arthur Hemmings Mystery. His latest non-fiction work, The Murder of Nikolai Vavilov: The Story of Stalin's Persecution of One of the Great Scientists of the Twentieth Century, will be published in May 2008.
For brief periods, at the start of his life, he was a palaeontologist and an RAF pilot. He now lives in New York City and the Adirondacks.
