Greg Collins has lived in and worked with China for 15 years as a hardware manufacturing and supply chain management executive. In early 2006, Collins founded The Lakeline Group, a Shanghai-based investment and consulting firm that specializes in creating unique China and India solutions for American and European companies and investors. He is also a partner in J. Copas & Associates, a cross-border M&A and law firm.
After undertaking management and outsourcing training with the likes of Intel, Hewlett-Packard, and Microsoft, Collins became one of the leading industry executives driving the dramatic expansion of hardware outsourcing to China and India. Known for his China expertise and original, cross-cultural approaches to management and problem solving, Collins rose through industry ranks quickly, most recently serving as senior vice president, Asia, for Solectron Corporation.
Active in speaking engagements, professional associations, and investment groups, Collins has served on the Shanghai mayor’s executive advisory board for Pudong foreign investment, The Center for Advanced Purchasing Studies Asian executive roundtable, and the American Chamber of Commerce (Shanghai). He was invited by Chinese President Hu Jintao to represent foreign investors at the Great Hall of the People.
Married and the father of two sons, Collins is also an adventure traveler, writer, trekker, Irish music flute player, martial artist, and designer of fedoras. He holds a BA in philosophy from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an MBA in supply chain management from WP Carey College of Business at Arizona State University.
