Currently the editor of Molecular Therapy, the journal of the American Society of Gene Therapy, Fintan Steele is also the editor of Genomics, an Academic Press journal that covers the rapidly changing world of genomic research. He has published articles about biomedical science and its wider implications for society in both scientific and nonscientific journals ranging from the Advocate to Nature.
Steele's multi-faceted career also includes four years as a researcher at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and 8 years as a monk and priest at St. Meinrad Archabbey, a Benedictine monastery in southern Indiana. He also teaches a variety of aerobics classes for the New York Sports Clubs.
Steele currently lives in the heart of New York City with two Cornish Rex cats and a wardrobe that is almost entirely black.
