Founder of Melquiades Productions, Kevin Abrams has worked for the past seven years in the documentary film industry as an editor, producer, and cinematographer. Before moving West, Abrams worked for three years as an associate producer at Engel Brothers Media, a New York-based independent documentary film production company specializing in adventure and science films for Discovery, PBS, National Geographic, and TBS. Since then he has been an editor for NBC, MTV, VH1, PBS, Lucasfilm, and on the Academy Award nominated film Daughter of Danang.
Abrams earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in English and is presently at the American Film Institute pursuing his masters in film directing. His short films Letish and Christmas Tree Blues have played at film festivals around the world.
Currently, Abrams is completing the second part of a trilogy of short films he has written about the Mexican-American border entitled Left at the Rio Grande.
