Antonio Sacre

Antonio Sacre, born in Boston to a Cuban father and Irish-American mother, is an internationally touring, award-winning storyteller and performing artist based in Los Angeles. He earned a BA in English from Boston College and an MA in theater from Northwestern University. Sacre has performed at the Kennedy Center, the National Storytelling Festival, the Library of Congress Festival of the Book, and many other festivals both in the U.S. and abroad.

He was commissioned by the Smithsonian Museum in 2004 and by the Getty Museum in 2005 to write a play for children. His latest children’s book ,The Barking Mouse, was published in 2003. He is a frequent commentator on National Public Radio.

Sacre is a sought after keynote speaker and community residency artist. He is committed to bridging racial divides and promoting cultural understanding, and has worked as artist in residence with at-risk teens in Chicago, New York, and South Central Los Angeles.
