John McLaughlin has been a strategic consultant and pollster for over 20 years. During this time he earned a reputation for helping guide underdog Republicans and conservative challengers to victory. He has worked across America and internationally in hundreds of campaigns. McLaughlin’s recent clients have included Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and seven sitting incumbent U.S. Senators. Other successful campaigns include Senators John Warner, George Allen, Richard Lugar, Richard Shelby, Jeff Sessions, Lauch Faircloth, Jesse Helms, Connie Mack, Al D’Amato, Don Nickles, and Gordon Humphrey. In 1996 and again in 2000, McLaughlin worked as the campaign pollster and consultant for Republican Presidential candidate Steve Forbes.
McLaughlin also has done extensive market research and consulting for nonprofit and corporate clients. His major clients include Smithfield Foods, Pfizer, CTIA-The Wireless Association, The Latino Coalition, The Media Research Center, the New York Jets, The Ronald S. Lauder Foundation, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida.
McLaughlin holds an MBA from Fordham University, with a concentration in quantitative methods and finance, and a BA from Fordham College in political science. He has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN, PBS, and radio talk shows across America. He also works as a consultant to CBS News Radio and MTV. His articles have been published in a wide range of publications, including National Review, Middle East Quarterly, Campaigns and Elections, and The Polling Report.
McLaughlin was named to the first edition of Who’s Who in Advertising, is a member of Mensa, received a 1991 Telly Award for ad creation, and the Political Campaign of the Year Award from PRWeek magazine in 2000.
