David Solomons is chief executive of CultureSmart!Consulting. The company delivers a uniquely holistic approach to all aspects of cross-cultural orientation for corporations, public bodies, and charitable institutions. It also publishes the Culture Smart! guides.
Solomons’ background is in behavioral psychology and business. He has trained as a psychotherapist and is an approved speaker for Vistage International as well as being a licensed trainer in Avatar (an international self-improvement course). He is also a visiting lecturer in the course Culture and Commerce at the University of Westminster, and is a member of the CBI International Mobility Forum.
He has lived, worked, and run organizations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the U.K. He is fluent in four languages. In the U.K., he is on steering committees both for a new cross-party parliamentary initiative working for the establishment of a Ministry for Peace, and for a degree course in business and culture at London Metropolitan University, where he is also a visiting lecturer.
His latest work has been for a number of multinationals off-shoring voice and technical services to India, where the company is about to create a joint venture partnership specializing in cross-cultural and management training in the Contact Centre industry. He is also on the point of creating a joint venture in the U.S.
Solomons presented and co-wrote the Crossing Cultures’ feature on BBC World’s weekly travel program FastTrack, and regularly writes columns for publications globally.
