Ahmad Ghoreishi is a lecturer in the department of national security affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School. He also has taught at St. Mary’s College, San Francisco State University, and the University of Colorado. He taught at the National University of Iran, where he also served as chancellor from 1977 to 1979, as dean of the School of Political Science and Economics from 1975 to 1977, and as dean for the School of Law from 1972 to 1977.
Ghoreishi’s diplomatic experience includes positions as an advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister and as a delegate to the United Nations. He has written extensive papers on U.S.-Iran relations, and political and strategic developments in the Middle East. His work on Iran and the Persian Gulf has been published in Naval War College Review, Middle East Policy, and Strategic Studies Institute.
Ghoreishi earned his doctorate degree in political science from the University of Colorado, his master’s degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley, and his BA degree in international relations from the University of Colorado.
