Steve James produced and directed the documentary Hoop Dreams, winner of every major critics prize, including a Peabody and Robert F. Kennedy Award. His other notable films include Stevie, which landed on a dozen "ten best" lists of 2003; the acclaimed miniseries The New Americans; At the Death House Door, which won numerous festival awards; No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson for ESPN's Peabody-winning 30 for 30 series; and The Interrupters, which won the Independent Spirit Award, the duPont-Columbia Journalism Award, an Emmy Award, and over a dozen festival prizes. The film also appeared on more than 60 "ten best" lists in 2011. James' most recent documentary on the life and career of critic Roger Ebert, Life Itself, premiered to acclaim at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
