Suhad Babaa is the director of programming at Just Vision, an organization dedicated to increasing media coverage and support for Palestinian and Israeli civilians working nonviolently to end the occupation and conflict in their region. In this role, Babaa oversees Just Vision's educational and community outreach efforts across the United States, Israel, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, formulates Just Vision's U.S.-based university and community outreach strategy, and coordinates the development and distribution of Just Vision's educational resources, working closely with educators and community leaders across the country. During her time with Just Vision, Babaa has been an integral member of the team's public engagement campaigns around the award-winning films Budrus and My Neighbourhood.
Previously, Babaa spent time in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, where she worked with the Applied Research Institute Jerusalem (ARIJ) and developed and taught English for a youth summer camp in Sakhnin. In 2006, she worked in the Republic of Korea for a nongovernmental organization focused on the demilitarization of the peninsula.
Babaa is a New Leaders fellow at the Center for Progressive Leadership. She graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a BA in politics, philosophy, and economics.
