Frank F. Islam
Frank Islam is a successful entrepreneur and investor based in Washington, D.C. He is founder, chairman, and CEO of FI Investment Group LLC (FIIG), which focuses on providing growth capital to emerging companies and manages specialized and branded funds. Seeking innovative strategies for value creation, he is often the first to invest within a new economic paradigm.
As founder and CEO of QSS Group, an information technology company, Islam was recognized as Maryland Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young in 1999, and as Small Business Person of the Year for Washington, D.C., by the U.S. Small Business Administration in 2001. Islamís business development experience within the federal government was key to the growth of QSS.
With BS and MS degrees in computer science from the University of Colorado, Islam has been active in the information technology, aerospace engineering services, and systems integration business for more than 25 years. His private foundation supports educational, cultural, and artistic causes worldwide, and he participates as a board member for several nonprofit organizations.
Islam also serves on the Department of Commerce Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC), on the international advisory council of the U.S. Institute of Peace, and on advisory boards for the Democratic National Committee, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and the University of Maryland Smith School of Business.
Coauthor of Renewing the American Dream, Islam hosts the TV show Washington Current Review, and is a contributor to the Huffington Post, Indian Express, Economics Times, and India Abroad. He strives to create opportunities that are sustainable and uplifting for humanity.
