Evelyn Resh is a nurse-midwife, sexuality counselor, and author. She frequently lectures on the topic of sexual health and satisfaction and writes about the connection between sensuality, self-empowerment, and sustained sexual desire. She also addresses mother-daughter relationships.
Her first book, The Secret Lives of Teen Girls: What Your Mother Wouldn’t Talk About but Your Daughter Needs to Know was published in 2009 and takes a distinctly sex-positive view of teenage girls and sex. Resh has been a contributing writer for oprah.com and director of sexuality programming and counseling for Canyon Ranch (Lenox, MA) and Miraval Resort (Tucson, AZ). She also blogs at huffingtonpost.com and is currently working on her second book, Women, Sex, Power and Pleasure: How a Pleasurable and Powerful Life Will Give You the Sex You Want.
Because of her dedication to “walking the talk,” Resh lives a deeply sensual life in rural western Massachusetts with her beloved partner Robin, 3 dogs, and 8 chickens. She has numerous birdfeeders on her property, does a walking meditation daily, enjoys her grown-up kids, and deeply appreciates her many good friends. She laughs as often and as heartily as possible but never at anyone’s expense—except maybe her own—and is a true believer in the value of a positive outlook.
