A true touring musician, Gooding has played more than 700 shows across the country, including an ambitious 50-state tour in 2010 and 2011. During the tour, his band performed free of charge at 16 military bases, played Walter Reed Hospital, and received a private tour of the White House.
Gooding has created music for commercials for several Fortune 500 companies, including Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler, and has placed more than 100 songs in film, TV, and DVDs including Iron Man 2, Walk the Line, Children of Men, We Are Marshall, Ice Age 2, and The Matrix: Revisited. He’s also helped to sonically rebrand CNN, CNNi, CNN Español, A&E, and PBS. Gooding accomplishes all of this through his own independent label, S3 Records, and his publishing catalog, Kingdom 2 Music.
Gooding is involved in a variety of humanitarian projects. He was recently named by John Hope Bryant as the latest celebrity ambassador for Operation HOPE, a nonprofit organization whose aim is to bring financial literacy to America's underprivileged students. Alongside fellow ambassador Quincy Jones, Gooding travels from school to school giving media presentations as part of the organization’s Five Million Kids (5MK) initiative.
Gooding was recently made an honorary committee member of the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), an organization that promotes preventive medicine and encourages higher ethical standards in research. He joins a short list that includes Alec Baldwin, Woody Harrelson, Ellen DeGeneres, and Bill Maher.
