Known as one of the advertising industry's most imaginative and progressive leaders, Jo Muse is the founder of Muse Communications and has led the firm, the first and only independent multicultural advertising agency in the United States, to national prominence. Over the last 25 years, Muse has produced award-winning work for clients such as the American Honda Motor Company, Nike, Wells Fargo Bank, and the White House.
As chief creative officer at Muse, he has received international and domestic commendations for the agency's creative work. He has been recognized as "Best Creative Director in the West" by Adweek and was selected as one of the "Top 20 Advertising Leaders of Southern California" by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Under his leadership, the agency has won the Belding, CLIOS, Effie, and The One Show advertising awards, and has been named "Agency of The Year" by both the American Association of Advertising Agencies and the Asian Advertising Association.
Muse has spoken on multicultural intelligence at the White House, U.S. Congressional hearings, and federal trade agencies, as well as at universities, including Stanford University, the University of California at Los Angeles, Morehouse College, and Ball State University. He has also presented to advertising clubs, American Marketing Association chapters, and conferences, including The Multinational Market Intelligence Symposium, Multicultural Media Expo, Hispanic Outreach Forum, African American Business Forum, and the Aspen Institute workshops.
