Evelyn Resh has been a women's health care practitioner for 17 years and has practiced as a certified nurse-midwife for the past 10 years. Her practice has primarily focused on the OB/GYN needs of vulnerable and minority populations including women of varied ethnic and racial backgrounds as well as lesbian and bisexual women. Resh has extensive personal and professional experience with alternative conception services for single, bisexual and lesbian identified women and was invited to present her perspective on this topic in a poster presentation format at the International Confederation of Midwives Conference in Oslow, Norway in 1996. In addition, she has appeared on the television program 20/20 regarding the experience of lesbian motherhood. Throughout her years in clinical practice. Resh has been an educator of medical students, medical residents and nurses and has been adjunct faculty at various colleges and universities including The University of Massachusetts Medical School, Russell Sage College and Yale University. At present, Resh is focusing on her gynecology practice as well as her practice as a sexuality counselor and educator. She currently lectures on the topic of women's sexuality at Canyon Ranch Health Spa and Resort in Lenox, MA where she also sees private clients for sexuality counseling. Her role as a sexuality counselor and educator includes a functional medicine approach to the resolution of physiological problems and the integration of a psycho spiritual approach to the enhancement of sexual function and satisfaction.
