Buff Energy Star Award Winners

2012 Buff Energy Star Winners

As part of ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental footprint and the campus energy bill, the University of Colorado at Boulder is rewarding employees $1,000 each for reducing building energy usage by at least 5 percent over the previous fiscal year.

This year building proctors Jerry Greene and Clark Oldroyd took this energy challenge to heart and reduced the MCDB and Koenig buildings' electricity use by impressive amount. They will each receive a one-time $1,000 cash bonus from CU-Boulder Vice Chancellor for Administration Louise Vale. The two buildings conserved 820,000 kWh, reduced carbon dioxide emissions by over 1,340,000 pounds, and saved the university over $86,834.
