Paper Reduction
Goal: 20% reduction by 2012, based on 2005 numbers
The efforts to reduce paper usage on campus have worked to help the campus reach its goal. Paper usage has seen a a dramatic reduction recently and is expected to continue to decrease, as seen in the following graph:
CU-Boulder recently made a requirement for all paper purchased to be made out of a minimum of 30 percent recycled content. Departments across campus are no longer allowed to order virgin paper, except for unique paper sizes.
Other initiatives include:
- Migration to multi-function devices (more info)
- Reduce the amount of phone books distributed on campus
- Retire desktop printers - ENVS 3001
