CU Dialogues was presented with the President’s Diversity Award at a special ceremony



CU Dialogues was presented with the President’s Diversity Award at a special ceremony at CU-Denver, 1800 Grant St. The President’s Diversity Award recognizes organizations and individuals of the CU community who strive to cultivate a culturally inclusive and diverse community at the university. CU Dialogues was one of two organizations to be recognized.

CU Dialogues participated in the fourth annual Program for Writing and Rhetoric Diversity Conference.


CU Dialogues participated in the fourth annual Program for Writing and Rhetoric Diversity Conference, "Dynamics of Inclusion". There were various CU Housing & Dining Services and Environmental Services Staff who participated in panels on behalf of the Dialogues Program. Around 50 other participants attended as well. There were also special undergraduate student presentations, international food, and musical performances.

The CU Dialogues Program will participate in CU-Boulder’s annual Diversity Summit.


The CU Dialogues Program will present a panel discussion, "TEACH, ENGAGE, EMPOWER: Generating Inclusive Practices through Cross-Cultural Classroom Dialogues," at CU-Boulder’s annual Diversity Summit, sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement. The theme for this year’s Summit is: “AMP it Up: Awareness, Movement, and Practice.” The presentation will take place from 12:30-1:45 pm in UMC 235. October 1-5, 2012: CU Dialogues Program featured in story/photo exhibit to be displayed... (expand/collapse)

The CU Dialogues Program featured in story/photo exhibit to be displayed at the Colorado State Capitol, and elsewhere around the state.


The CU Dialogues Program is one of seven organizations featured in a story and photo exhibit created for Colorado’s Conflict Resolution Month, entitled, “Talking It Out: Getting to Agreement.” The exhibit documents the work of Conflict Resolution practitioners and celebrates Coloradans who have changed their lives as a result of their willingness to participate in constructive and effective problem solving.

This exhibit will be available at a series of venues throughout Colorado. We hope to bring it to Boulder in early 2013. The current plans include:

The CU Dialogues Program provides outreach for developing Hill neighborhood dialogues


The CU Dialogues Program Hill is providing outreach assistance to help the University Hill Neighborhood Association develop a series of dialogues between student rental residents and homeowner residents living in the Hill neighborhood. The CU Dialogues Program has an array of classroom dialogues for Fall 2012


To date, the CU Dialogues Program has scheduled 17 classroom dialogues for the fall semester. These classroom dialogues will be held in classes from an array of disciplines, including History, English, Communications and Writing. The CU Dialogues Program will also facilitate 4 dialogues for Residence Life this semester.

CU Dialogues Program instrumental in work honored by the 2012 President’s Diversity Award


Assistant Professor David Boromisza won the 2012 President's Diversity Award for raising students' awareness of diverse populations in the residence hall community as the result hosting a dialogue in his class and working with the CU Dialogues Program Project Coordinator, Pilar Prostko, to help his students develop a “community pledge” to post in the hall.
