ALTEC
The Anderson Language Technology Center (ALTEC) provides a
variety of services to those interested in foreign languages. Services include
viewing foreign language films, listening to language practice tapes,
downloading and recording digital audio files, and much more. ALTEC facilities
include computers that enable students to do word processing in foreign
languages, multi-media classrooms with state of the art equipment, and a
library of films from around the world. In addition, ALTEC also administers
foreign language classes and workshops for community members, K-12 students, CU
students, faculty and staff. If
you are interested in exploring or enhancing foreign language skills, ALTEC is
the campus resource that can help you do so.

Pre-College Engineering Success Institutes for
Under-Served Students
The College of Engineering and Applied
Sciences offers an introduction to the joys and challenges of engineering for
under-served high school students within 40 miles of campus. Programs are
designed to expose students to engineering basics and fundamentals.
9th graders are on campus for 2 days to
do hands-on projects that explore general engineering principles; 10th graders are
on campus with the 9th graders, but participate in more advanced thermodynamics
and heat transfer engineering activities; 11th graders are on campus for 4 days
to complete an engineering design project; AND 12th graders spend an entire
5-day session completing a rigorous design project similar to that offered in
CU's first-year engineering courses.
