SCSS School Climate Survey Instruments

The SCSS School Climate Surveys are conducted anonymously online through a safe and secure website at no charge for Colorado schools. Shortly after the surveys are completed, SCSS issues a comprehensive report to the school detailing their school climate with attention to their strengths and challenges. Evidence-based programs and strategies are identified for addressing challenges. To administer these School Climate Surveys, schools must:

For Students

  • Have access to a computer lab with internet access where students can take the surveys.
  • Schedule the survey administration after students have been back in school for at least 60 days.

For Administrators and Staff

  • Include all administrators and school staff in the survey, including teachers as well as part-time, para-professional, janitorial and kitchen staff.
  • Open the survey to administrators and staff after students have been back in school for at least 60 days.

For Parents

  • Have a reliable way to communicate with parents.
  • Open the survey to parents after students have been back in school for at least 60 days.
