Barometers of School Safety Assessments
The Safe Communities ~ Safe Schools Initiative offers a variety of instruments, free of charge to Colorado schools, to help administrators better understand their school’s strengths and needs. The Barometers of School Safety Assessments include the Pre-Planning Assessment Checklists and the Online School Climate Surveys.
Pre-Planning Assessment Checklists
The Pre-Planning Assessment Checklists contain tools to aid school-community planning teams in identifying areas of strength and weakness that could affect school and community safety.
Barometers of School Safety Survey Instruments
Our Barometers of School Safety climate survey instruments are conducted online through a safe and secure website at no charge for Colorado schools. These surveys are anonymous and the identity of the schools and districts will remain confidential.
• SPARK: Elementary School Survey
• VOLT: Middle/High School Survey
• CHARGE: Administrator Staff Survey
Shortly after the survey is completed, CSPV will issue a comprehensive report to the school (no additional charge), detailing their school climate. The report will alert schools to their strengths, as well as areas that might need improvement.
