We aim to bridge the gap between research and practice to ensure that the best that is known from prevention science gets into the hands of those who need it most.
We engage in high quality multidisciplinary research and provide a wide-range of supports to those who are implementing evidence-based programs, practices and policies to promote positive youth development and reduce problem behaviors (e.g., violence, delinquency, and substance abuse).
Our work focuses on three main areas:
Research on the effectiveness of programs that prevent and reduce problem behaviors and promote positive youth development; translational research on the dissemination, selection and implementation of evidence-based programs, practices and policies.
Resources that identify and disseminate information on evidence-based programs, practices and policies related to enhancing nurturing environments, emotional well-being, positive relationships, and academic performance and reducing the risk factors for violence, delinquency, substance abuse, and other problem behaviors.
Training and Technical Assistance that includes informational presentations, consultation, school climate surveys, and assistance in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
