At the undergraduate level, the Department of Computer Science offers the BS in Computer Science degree or the BA in Computer Science degree.

The BS degree offers different paths through the curriculum that lead to different areas of specialization, including:

  • General Computing
  • Computational Biology
  • Computational Science and Engineering
  • Human-Centered Computing
  • Networked Devices and Systems
  • Software Engineering
  • Systems

The BS in Computer Science degree culminates in a senior-year course where students carry out a year-long software engineering project for a real-world industry sponsor.

The BA in Computer Science degree provides a solid foundation in CS knowledge and skills but provides the space for a students in the College of Arts and Sciences to take a double major or earn a minor/certificate in some other A&S discipline.

Both degree programs prepare students for a wide range of careers in the computing field.

Contact Carrie Sadler if you would like to ask questions about either of these two degree programs.
