CAPS currently has training programs for two groups of participants—advanced practicum students enrolled in a graduate program in an accredited institution of higher education and early-career professionals who have completed their doctorates in a mental health discipline. These two programs offer both separate and overlapping training and work activities.
The aim at CAPS is to integrate the training programs with all aspects of CAPS services. In that way, trainees at the two levels can learn from the full complement of CAPS’ rich staff. From the start of their tenure at CAPS, advanced practicum students and post-doctoral fellows are given opportunities to get to know, work alongside, and learn from senior staff. Trainees are encouraged to learn from all members of the senior staff as well as to bring their own perspectives and knowledge to CAPS staff.
